I am fascinated with the world of design, There is always something new to learn, and inspiration can come from anywhere. The constant search for new and innovative materials, combined with the challenge of learning new skills to create the work that my mind envisions, makes each day in my studio fresh and fulfilling.
I have primarily studied art at the UW, SPU, Fry and Pratt art programs. I have taken many personal art classes from well known artists.
I have also participated in jewelry classes at Pratt, Danaca Studio,TMAC, and Fusion Beads as well as small working artist classes.
Collections of my work have shown at local art walks, local galleries, Museum of History and Industry and the Shoreline Museum.
Presently I am a member of Gallery North in Edmonds. I was the featured artist in May 2013, 2014 and November 2015.
I am also a juried member of Seattle CoArts and was accepted into their juried 2014, 2015, 2016 shows, as well as the 2015 Schack Show where my piece Ashore was featured in their advertisement.
I am a member of Northwest Watercolor Society as well as the Northwest Pastel Society.
My husband, children and grandchildren are my inspiration. They fill me with laughter and joy. For the past 40 years I've taught young and old souls. I love to spend time in my studio, travel and work in my garden.
My intuition guides my life and my way of seeing the world. I hope my art enriches you as much as it has enriched me in its creation.
Current visual art allows the artist to explore a wash of both traditional and nontraditional mediums. I love to explore all the possibilities...whether that is through the use of a new paper in watercolor or combining techniques on canvas. Whenever I see a beautiful setting I start to paint it in my mind and try to delve into the "spirit of place". I also like to take a theme and work through an idea in mixed media, especially encaustic painting.
I love to travel. My art features watercolor, pastel and mixed media landscapes from America to Europe.
Contemporary Art Jewelry is a harmonious synthesis of color, form, texture, and proportion, balanced to make visible, wearable art. I create one of a kind jewelry in my studio. I have several lines of jewelry work including chain mail, mixed metals, quality gem, metalwork and enamel. This season I am introducing a line of bold spring colors in my jewelry.
